Pizo Garnacha is crafted to showcase pure varietal character, drawing influence from its specific vineyard site. The interplay between Spanish summer sunshine and vineyard altitude ensures fruit reaches optimal ripeness without becoming over-developed. This careful balance allows the grapes to express their full potential clearly.
This Spanish red wine selection offers depth derived from its unique terroir.

Our Pizo wines are all about varietal character. The location of the vineyard, its altitude and the soil type all play an important role in allowing the fruit here to express everything it can and should. The long days of Spanish summer sunshine mean the fruit can gradually but thoroughly ripen. The altitude keeps the temperature in check so there's no chance of over-ripeness. And then there's the slate-rich soils which give the wine a clear and defined structure with a mineral texture to the palate.
Please drink responsibly: The UK Chief Medical Offers recommend adults do not regularly drink more than 14 units per week

Selected vineyards from the higher parts of Paniza's terroir, rounding 700-800m altitude. Mostly slate soils, usually night harvest so the sun won't affect the freshness of the grape when waiting to be processed, since the Garnacha tends to be more affected by it.

Antonio Serrano
After crushing and de-stemming, the grape macerates for 6 days and fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with several rackings per day. After malolactic fermentation the wine is decanted, clarified and stabilized. Finally, the wine will be filtered before being bottled.
