Remove the battery if it is no longer functioning, or if the product is left unused for an extended period of time. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to installing a new battery. Remove used promptly. Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use. Do not mix new and old batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc) or rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium or Nickel-Metal-Hydride) batteries. To activate,unscrew end cap. Remove plastic battery isolator tab and reattach the end cap. To operate simply hod the base and then raise the top of the lantern using the attached handles. The light will come on automatically. Close the lantern to turn the light off. To replace batteries, unscrew the end cap, remove exhausted batteries and replace with the type stated. Reattach end cap.
